It can take while to exchange a chain so don't panic.

If one of the solicitors were in court all morning, it might take until after lunch.

They don't sit round on their bums waiting for something to do all day, staring out the window dreaming "I wish I had something important to do today, I'm such a loser".
  • Put it this way - the solicitor holding it up has been the one above us in the chain - who I know has been in the office after calling his secretary. Funnily enough after my phone call he has now spoken to my solicitor. Now he is ringing the last solicitor in the chain to complete the exchange....and he has until 5pm to get back to my solicitor. Its cutting it fine and I really don't want to do this all again tomorrow....
