I live in a house that is Electricity only and my supplier is Eon. My tariff is called Heatwise Energy Plan with 5 different readings for various parts of the day when electricity is used. I am having difficulty in finding any supplier to switch to. Does anyone know of alternative supplier for this type of tariff?

Hi chiantikid
Thought it might help if I gave you a bit of background about Heatwise meters.
These meters are specifically designed for all electric properties with storage heaters. They give 10 hours of water and storage heating per day at cheaper rates. This is split into three separate blocks in the afternoon, evening and night.
As your meter has five readings, I suspect the plan you will be on is Heatwise with Economy 7.
Here, the Heatwise will work alongside your Economy 7 tariff to allow you to use other electrical appliances during the night at the lower off peak rates.
This type of metering is a bit of a hybrid and is restricted to the East Midlands region. Therefore, you will not be able to find it listed on the comparison sites.
Other suppliers may be able to support it but, I'm afraid, you will need to contact them individually to ask.
Alternatively, it is possible to remove the Heatwise part of the meter so you are on a more standard system. This will give you access to a range of other tariffs, both with us and the other suppliers.
However, I always advise caution before going down this route as the Heatwise will be wired into your heating/water system and removing it may cause problems in these areas. I would ask an independent electrician for advice before doing this.
We also charge £50 to cover the costs of this work.
Hope this gives you a few pointers about your particular set up chiantikid. Give me a shout if you need any more info as will be happy to help.

Thanks for the info. I will stick to the system for now. It's not that I'm unhappy in any way but I thought it wise to check prices etc with other companies given the present economic climate. One of my storage heaters has just packed up and I may be installing a woodburner in the lounge replacing the ghastly electric fire.Hi chiantikid
