just bought a ladder from homebase, 6.1 meters. anyway. i had to get the misses to put her feet at the bottom and while up the ladder tending to my blocked guttering (which is now unblocked) i thought if this bloody ladder slips in this weather im not going to be happy.
so i thought id ask is there such thing as a ladder chock something like wedges that you place at the bottom so you do not have to rely on anyone holding the ladder.

All the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.

Lots of ideas , I have the laddermate stabilizers , I need all the help I can get.0 -
on soil its easy enough. drive a longish 2x2 peg/s into the ground and tie the ladder to it.Get some gorm.0

Or a couple of offcuts of wood, cut into a wedge shape and kicked under the feet of the ladder.0

In the past I have used a concrete block or two quite successfully. Otherwise do what ormus suggests, if the ladder is on soft ground. Concrete block if it is on hard ground. I'm not keen on wedges, they are too easily displaced by accident.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
