Rendering a House

Hi There,
I brought a wreck of a house a few years ago and have been gutting it and working on it ever since.
I'm now onto the outside of the house and unfortunately the whole house is rendered and painted a rather disgusting dark mustard colour (absolutely the worst colour imaginable - why did the previous owner choose it? I'll never know!).
There is an old porch on the front which will be coming down, and a flat roofed square bay window.
Is it possible to just re-render the front (it really is knackered), without doing the side and back? I could then just repaint the side and back (assuming the mustard can be covered by light paint).
Also, if I'm having the render done, am I better off getting the guttering/fascias done first? Also, if the flat roof needs re-felting, or replacing with a tiled pitched roof, am I better off doing that first?
Sos for all the questions,
Alex

The guttering and fascias shouldn't make any difference, same with the roofing work. If you are getting the soffits done then I would recommend getting that done first as if its like ours the existing render will cover the edge of the soffit boards and makes them difficult to get out with out damaging the render.
Are you planning on doing it yourself or getting someone in?0 -
may be worth considering a lime based render that has a degree of flexibility and self coloured no painting needed. k-rend, webber, decopierre etc etc; these will cover cruddy work better. paint now, and then again and again in years ahead.0

It all depends on cost - at the very least I'll get someone to actually do the rendering, but if it saves a substantial amount I might take the old render off myself, and I can defo take the porch down.........I am completely sick of DIY right now tho lol0 -
If your removing it then it might be worth thinking about adding some insulation to the outside unless there is a cavity which can be insulated.0
