Hi folks bought this from amazon a couple of weeks ago for my daughter's birthday. she loves to record herself singing and playing it back (she's 11) but even when she uses a microphone the playback sound is so low you literally can't hear it if there's any other noise. Just wondered if this is par for the course or if it could be faulty. I bought it from amazon who I understand have a good customer services reputation. I know the sound would probably better if it was played back via either tv or computer but she just wants to hear it immediately. the quality isn't that bad it's the volume that's the problem. anyone else have one who could advise me please? thanks

Have you tried to playback via tv or comp? If not please try and see how that is.
These devices are not designed to playback what they film on themselves-They are hd 720p and only have a 240 screen so need a much better screen and maybe same goes for sound. I've got a minohd and zx1 and never play back on the cam itself.

Edit -not saying it isn't faulty ,try and hear another vado.

yes I'll get her to try that although as I said she really just wants to sing a verse watch herself and then over-record but at least I can hopefully return it if it is faulty.

I leave the lead connected to the tv permanent- then its only a few seconds to see the video! Used to have a big old 36" tv with mega sound which lucky had av connections , just got a 47" lcd last week so use the supplied hdmi cable ,can watch on tv while it films - the grandkids love it!!

thanks for that - she's got a TV in her room which she can only play DVDs on at the moment because it was going to cost a bomb to get a new aerial so we're saving up. We'll give it a try tonight and hopefully if it works that will confine her (and her singing!) to her bedroom (only joking)
