Can you ask your relatives if they have their bank or credit card statement for the purchase, Argos will accept this as proof of purchase! You should be able to get a refund onto a gift card then!

PS Do they want another niece, as I get rubbish pressies off mine!!!!

If you have the original box ect you should be able to get argos vouchers without the receipt.
  • The box has to have the argos catalogue number on it (the proper sticker, not just written on by you!) and then it is still only at manager's discretion, especially on expensive items like this. ALso without the receipt/credit card statement proving when it was bought you will only be able to get a refund for the lowest selling price of the item.
  • I was in a similar situation a while back & found this thread very helpful.

    Good luck!

    Good luck!

I've just read this thread and am fairly horrified to see people recommending committing fraud against Argos. I certainly would not suggest you do what these people have done.
  • Thankyou everyone. It went very well in argos .I told the lady the truth and she didnt hesitate to give me a gift card with the £149.99 on for me .Very pleased and can start looking for something else now.

    thanks guys
