Not sure if this is in the correct forum - apologies if not, but I couldn't see where else to put it :)

Anyway this is just a heads-up really, what with christmas approaching & people buying games right, left & centre.

I usually buy my games from play.com, amazon, The Hut or my local sainsburys or asda, but I found gameplay.co.uk, who are part of Game and they had a game I had been after for a while in stock and for the lowest price I had seen.

I couldn't find many reviews on google for them so decided to take a risk and I'm happy to say they were superb.

I ordered the item at 1.30 yesterday, received dispatch confirmation 2 hours later and it was delivered today. So that is less than 24 hours for FREE delivery, and I could have paid £4.95 for next day delivery

I am in no way affiliated to gameplay, but I thought I would share a good experience with you good people :)

I am under no illusions that I could have just got lucky and normally they are poor but I think good service deserves a mention!
:)

I've never purchased anything off Gameplay myself, but by the sounds of it if it is affiliated with Game then they use the same delivery guys as Game and store the games in the same warehouse, so the service will be the same. Thanks for letting me know though, I'll be sure to give them a look in next time I need a game.

I've had no problems with them in the past, although when they became part of the Evil Empire of Rubbish Customer Service (aka Game) i stopped using them, generally speaking if i used their free delivery option it arrived next day anyways, but have known friends who have waited 3-4 days for games.

Good to hear a POSITIVE response to online shopping at this time of year though.
Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.

I think more people shopped online last year for christmas then people that went into shops... :rotfl:
  • Gameplay have been around since the 90's. I still remember getting their newsletter through the post with a list of the game prices.

There prices aren't as competitive as they used to be, but occasionally they come out cheapest in the price comparison websites. Having just logged on and checking my account, I've bought at least 1 item from them every year for the last 10 years. I've never had any issues with them.

They're all within the same company. Just check the bottom of the Game and Gamestation sites.

I tend find Steam the cheapest around and if you're patient the special offers they do can see you picking up games after 6-10 months for 75% off cost...

...actually with the US thanksgiving thing they've got a rotating daily sale on at the moment.

Good for offers.... however if getting full price or brand new on release games they tend to ignore the Sale of Goods Act so might be worth going elsewhere for riskier games (ie ones that could be full of bugs or MMOs likely to collapse when they flop as you won;t be getting a refund)
