It is great getting a hamper like this - but can I suggest that you include some clothes for when the baby is grown too? Say a newborn outfit, a 0-3 month outfit, a 3-6 month outfit etc etc. By outfit - I simply mean babygrows! Just because when you have a baby people often buy for the size the baby is NOW so you have more clothes than you can get the baby into right now - but maybe none in 6 months time. Look out for baby clothes in the sales as you can get some lovely stuff - or charity shops - even then you can find brand new things with tags on.Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
Hi, a friend did this for me for my 1st. Her baby was 6 months old at the time so she got me unusal things she found useful and they all seemed odd pressies at the time but used them all (and didn't already have any of them)
A little pot for carrying measured out amounts of formula (mothercare & boots do them) when out and about. I am bf'ing this time but the pot will be great for carrying small snacks. When I was using bottles it was really helpful.
One of those plastic things with lots of hooks on to hold washing. Great for drying baby socks, muslin Squares, etc I wouldn't be without mine! You can get them from the 99p shops.
A natural sponge. Great for first baths and top and tail washes.
The coloured rings that attach toys to buggies. I now have loads of these because they are a great first toy for babies and my 3 year old likes to play with them now, but linking them up. I have had them from elc, mothercare & found them in a 99p shop once.
My mate also got me some bits for weaning. Weaning spoons, pots, bib with arms. Weaning comes round so fast it was nice to have some stuff ready.
I was really pleased with these thoughtful, useful objects!SAHM Mummy tods (born Oct 2007) and dd (born June 2010)0
