stansted airport now charging for liquids bags

I've just noticed that the free bags at stansted have been replaced with the 2 for £1 machines. So if your flying from stansted either bring a bag with you or make sure you've got a spare quid.

Or better still shove it all in your hold baggage.

I've never yet needed to use a plastic bag

Edit - no good if you are hand baggage only;)

However whenever there are women in my group when I travel, and regardless if they have checked in bags or not, they always seem to have make up in their handbags "just in case"

What would happen if the pilot were to come out into the cabin and they couldn't touch up their make-up?

Just in case of what? That they might crash on a desert island and have to keep their foundation topped up for months?

Sometimes life really is simpler being a man.

I would guess 'just in case' their hold luggage doesn't get to the same destination at the same time they do?

I always pack my hand luggage on the assumption that my checked-in luggage will go astray!
