Can we bring our own sweets into the Odyssey?

Hi
i was at the Children in Need concert on Friday in the Odyssey and had no problem bringing in sweets. I think they might be tighter on drinks as they could have alcohol in them but no problem with sweets.
One good tip- put the sweets in the kids coat pockets if you think they might take them- they really only ever check handbags!!0 -
Looked at the odyssey web site and it says, only food and drink purchased on the premises may be consumed in the venue.0

the jey word there is CONSUMED. They cant take things off you or refuse entry for simply bringing something in. You could just say its for the journey home!0

I can't eat wheat, and always have to bring my own stuff with me and have never had a problem taking it in anywhere.
Been to the odyssey loads of times and other than drinks having their tops removed don't think I have even been questioned about having food/sweet stuff in my bag.
Hope you have a great night out!DJWW - cos we won't let it!0 -
Sweets and cinemas??...oh the fun we had hitting people on the head with brandyballs:rotfl:0

you wouldn't catch me throwing malteasers...that's just evil...LOL0

Yeah - I really don't get the taking the bottle lids thing. I queried it and they said that it was in case you threw the bottle as an empty bottle would hurt someone less. I thought a physics lecture about how the water would still stay in during the flight path would be wasted...
I also thought it increased the slip/trip/fall risk and there have been some massive payouts in the news for slipping accidents. They seem oblivious to this though - one concert I was at was like a waterfall of spilt beer cascading down the tiered seats...0 -

The show was great and the security minimal. The kids all got to enjoy their sweets and we needn't even have bothered to conceal them as no-one seemed to care. £1 bags of Maltesers from Tesco sure taste better than the £2.50 bags in the kiosk. Thanks for all the ideas and comments.0
