Dimplex Storage Heaters in 1 bed flat

We recently moved into a one-bedroom flat, and we're spending most of our time in the living room. It's on the second floor so not too cold and the flat has double glazing. There are 3 dimplex heaters in the flat (bedroom, living room and bathroom) and so far I've only used the living room one for heat. However, I'm not sure if the best thing to do is leave it on all the time or only switch it on at night and off in the morning? I've been putting it on at say 10 at night so it can heat up overnight and it's always hot the next day, but how can I get it to just be warm the next evening? It'd be better for us to have it warm in the evening. Do we need to get a timer?

Hi,
sounds as though you will be on economy 7 tariff, have a look at your bill, it should have two different rates on it, usually low/normal or day/night.
You can leave it switched on, as it is controlled by time switch.
You probably have two controls on the heaters, one for input other for boost.
The higher you set the input, the more heat, but also uses more electricity, I turn mine up gradually as weather gets colder.
The boost operates a flap inside the heater to release heat, again the higher setting releases more heat. Close the flap when you go to bed at night, no point heat belting out during the night when you are in bed, and open bit by bit in the evening.
With economy 7 the whole house switches to cheap rate overnight, so, once you have an idea of your times, you could do a bit of cooking, washing or drying in the mornings, but do remember the neighbours.0 -
Why not go to the Dimplex website and look for the instructions? That way you can choose your settings, and check with your electricity company that you are on the best tariff for your needs.Today, my BEST is good enough.0
