advice needed ASAP with blocked drains

ive just moved out of my old house and my landlady has said she is not giving me most of my deposit back. This is because the wet room leaked water out onto the bedroom carpet, it was damaged and needs replacing the water also sunk into the kitchen and leaked thru the ceiling a bit, no major repairs needed here just sealing and re-painting apparently.
The drains were un-blocked after my LL removed the carpet and it was only a build up of hair. Am i really to blame for this and made to pay for the carpet and kitchen painting? I found that when they were unblocking the drain the little hole that the water drains through is tiny (about the size of two peas) is that normal? to me it looks too small. after MY LL cleaned it out it blocked again only a few weeks later, i was in the house for 11months and it blocked around 4 times in total, c-soda and drain unblocker worked the first few times but not the time of the major flood obviously. I said this to my LL and she just reokied saying "ive never had this problem before you should of cleaned it out once a month!" I lived with my parents for 17 years and never did any of the sinks block. Do you think it is badly fitted (her husband is a bit of a handy man, maybe he did it himself?)
She also wants to charge me for a gardener to come over and cut the grass and hedges as i havent done so. It is in my contract to keep the garden tidy and neat, however it is winter, the lawn mower is electric if i cut the grass surely it would electricute me or something. Can she charge me for that too? Please help asap thanks

1) Is your deposit in a protected scheme? If you and your landlady can't come to an agreement, it will have to be independently decided though the scheme's arbitration process.
2) 17 years without unblocking a sink? Really? I seem to be always unblocking one or another of the bathroom sinks and showers for my family wherever we've lived. I buy hair traps for everyone but they never seen to use them (probably because they've never had to face the slimy hairy gunk that I have to extract!)
3) You should have mowed the grass for the last time at the end of the summer growing period, like the rest of us did! It shouldn't have been too hard to figure out that ignoring the grass until it was covered in snow would somewhat hinder its mowing!0 -
i dont mind sorting out the grass, i just think she was being picky. My BF thinks she is trying to mug me off for new carpet, he thinks that her husband fitted the shower drainage system (were not 100% sure of this) and that it is not a proper one.0

and and for the deposit being in a protected scheme, im not sure, i think so. she has to sign it to relase it to me and i have to sign it to receive it i think0

Some pipes are more prone to blocking than others.
If it starts to block you should have sorted it out... the stuff is £3-4 a go though so a bit of a nuisance financially if you have to do it every month.0
