btw the guy is still selling the fake dvds! I don't know if he's selling anything else but Play.com are quite happy for him to be selling pirate copies.
Oh and F.A.C.T. have been informed too, also nothing's been done.
Subject : pirate seller
Message : I just wanted to inform you play trader ******** is selling pirate DVDs. The reason that I know this is because I was looking for Ong Bak 3 on DVD and his listing says...
" dvd is sealed please note dvd is usa import will play in uk 100%"
Now I thought I didn't realise it had been released in the US and checked Amazon.com, playUSA.com and axlemusic.com and thought I would see if it was a better release. Except it hasn't been released in the United States of America. I can't even find it on pre-order. Ergo that man is selling pirated DVDs on your site and thought you should know about it.

If you bought one then complain to Trading Standards.0

I didn't buy one I've just spotted it while looking for a copy myself. The guy in question claims it's a US import but the film isn't released in the US until February next year.
You'd think once informed Play would act but didn't. As long they make money who cares. Amazon.com have a trader even saying they are DVD-r copies on 1 of their listings.:eek:0 -
Im wondering why someone would buy a "us import" of a movie that's not out on DVD in the US till Feb '11 when you can pick up the R2 disk in the highstreet! (Ong Bak 3 released in the UK on October '10)...Laters

When I saw this yesterday I wondered the same SOlitaire, why is OP looking for a R1 disc version when it is available as R2 here cheap?
I see OP started same thread on avforums on 12 Nov.0 -
Looks like they've taken the battle on to Play as well.Negative
"FAKE GOODS - ILEGAL COPY - A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME & MONEY"
Seller Response: SO ANGRY WITH THIS COMMENT WILL BE TAKING THIS UP WITH PLAY ASAP AS ITS BANG OUT OF ORDER 558 FEEDBACK AND ONE #### BUYER
Personal vendetta?
IMO Play should only allow comments from actual buyers and from this it seems they don't unless it really is someone else.
In any case it doesn't say it's a R1 disk what it says is...Comments: dvd is sealed please note dvd is usa import will play in uk0 -

which is not the same thing at all.
Mybad Kwikbreaks, I mistakenly assumed that a US import dvd would mean R1 but then again it could be any region or none0 -

I posted the same thread here because I thought it was wrong that even after contacting play.com and fact that pirate seller was still ripping people off.Why I'm having to defend myself for for warning people after the powers that be had done nothing at that time.Personal vendetta?

In any case it doesn't say it's a R1 disk what it says is...I thought you are presumed innocent until found guilty in this country.
BTW the seller has NOW been removed from that listing but I'd bet he sold more than 1 line of pirate DVDs.0 -
Doesnt USA import mean it has been imported into the US and if it plays in the UK then surely that would mean it the japanese version???0
-
Personally I would take the the term US import to mean that it was US imported from the US ie whatever DVD was released in the US , in the same way I would take HK import to mean it was the Hong Kong version. Anyway if you were trying to sell a legitimate version of a film you would say which country it's from imo.0
