Deleting setup files

Hi,
I have a number of setup files in my downloads folder, resulting from downloading files such as Ccleaner, Spybot and Spywareblaster. Files such as these were subsequently opened and the programs installed on my pc.

My question is: Can I now delete the files in the downloads folder without adversely affecting these programs? I'm keen to clear up as much stuff as possible that isn't necessary. Thanks

Brian

Sure, you can go ahead an delete them. Once the application has been installed on your compute, the setup file is not longer required. You'd only need the setup file to re-install the application, but saying that, you can always download the application from the internet if required. Obviously newer versions of the application will be available on the internet so unless there is a specific reason for holding on to a specific version of an application there's no reason to keep it. Note: there are older versions of software applications available at: http://www.oldversion.com/ and http://www.oldapps.com/ if you prefer an older version of software.
