Oh dear, strange situation....

Ok, so whilst riding my bike today, I came to a junction where I went into the middle of the road as I was turning right. Whilst waiting (I was stationary), noticed a car undertaking me to the left but thought nothing of it as it always happens at that particular junction.

All of a sudden, heard a loud bang and hiss. Originally thought it was a bus releasing air pressure from brakes, but turned out to be the bloke undertaking me hitting the curb and bursting his tyre. So he's just incurred maybe £50 of damage as a result of not waiting for me to make my turn, and undertaking me.

I looked around a bit, realised what had happened and just carried on. He pulled into the lay by and that's the last I saw of him.

What do you guys think I should of done? Was I right to just carry on or should I have gone and discussed what happened with him?

Cheers :)

He'd almost certainly have been running low tyre pressure on that wheel for this to happen.... His problem.

No contact between your vehicles so nothing to do with you.
Did he definitely hit the kerb? Could it have been a nail?

Either way, it's not your concern so did nothing wrong by carrying on.

No-one forced him to strike a kerb; that was his choice. Sleep tight.

Nothing wrong at all if there was space for him to pass on your left, that seems in doubt tho' but his problem.

And, he obviously didn't blame you or he would have been chasing you up the road with the jack handle :D;)

You seem to have been where you ought to be.

He was not only impatient, but also mis-judged the gap, and paid the price. He was lucky if it was only a tyre and not an alloy wheel as well.
