I am having a problem with photogallery when i start up my laptop I have been getting assistance on another problem from Alfonso and that is now fixed but still have this one. I have tried using the add/delete programmes but it is not there. I have tried windows explorer but cant find it. I have tried searching manually and cant find it so I have no clue as what to do next.
Here is what happens on start up regarding the photogallery.
In a box in the middle of the screen I get this message,
Please wait while windows configures photogallery.
I press cancel and it does this 3 times before going away altogether.
if I let it run it then gives me this message
The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available.
Insert the 'PhotoGallery' disk and click OK.
When I press ok it then stops responding and if I press cancel i get,
Error 1706.No valid source could be found for the product PhotoGallery. The Windows Installer cannot continue.
so I have to press ok then it goes through the system again unless i press the cancel button 3 times as above.
I dont know what CD this would be on as I only have Office 2003 or the recovary CD and it does'nt seem to be on any of them.

if you click start all progtam then see if its in you startup folder if it is then delete it.
If not then click start run and type in msconfig click on the startup tab and see if you can recgonise the programme in the listthat is trying to start if you do then uncheck the box click ok the reboot your machine and see if that has done the trick0 -
done this could'nt find it exactly so i tried a few that were windows and not sure what they did but seeing as i dont know what i am doing I never continued with it so it may be possibly somewhere else
1. however I think the problem may be what is not there rather than what is as nothing seems to be able to find it.Bargain BoyNo amount of money is worth more than good health0 -

Well not exactly now when I try to uninstall anything to do with my printer It wont let me I reticked the boxes problems came back still could'nt uninstall the printer.
What have I doneBargain BoyNo amount of money is worth more than good health0 -
yes Ive done it I have rid my Laptop from evil. firstly Alfonso took me through the debugging of it, then Browntoa and lee634 gave me some tips on what to look for and how to look for it and after a few slips and errors I have finally done it.
If you read the other posts in this thread you will know the faults Ive had.
in the end I basically had to uninstall my printer drives then reinstal them to finally uninstall them and his seems to have done the trick on the last problem.
