Transun - no flight details--should I be worried?

I am off to Lapland for 3 days on 27th Dec from Gatwick, booked via Transun. I contacted them to find at least which terminal I am flying from (flight number would be good too!) but have been told twice now, last time today, that they don't know yet. I have booked flights a year in advance before and have known those details..should I be worried that the flight may not actually happen if they don't know the terminal or flight number 5 weeks before the holiday?
Thanks

Transun are specialists in the Lapland type trips and have been in the business for years, they aren't cowboys, so I wouldn't worry on that front.
There may be a few reasons why they cant give you the details. The flights have probably been arranged but maybe the info isn't available to the customer service people? Also, the flights for Transun will be a chartered flight, not a scheduled one. This means Transun will have contracted an airline to specifically operate a series of flights from A to B. All the seats will be for Transun and sold by Transun.
They use a number of different airlines, based negotiating contracts and getting the best price. Also, being winter, plenty of airlines will have spare capacity. I'm sure if I had the cash and the willing, I'd be able to arrange a flight from Gatwick to Lapland for 5 weeks time. Airlines like Monarch, Thomas Cook, Thomson etc will have aircraft available, they are specialist charter operators.
That said, I highly doubt Transun are in that situation. I am sure the flights are arranged, probably the specifics aren't available to the call centre operatives for one reason or another. It won't be a scheduled flight that you were booked onto months ago, where they can just look up the timetable and reservation bookings.0 -
you will be fine, however, transun have cancelled day trips in the past but not the longer breaks so you will be fine and you will have a wonderful time, they will let you know nearer the time about the flight info etc, it's quite common practice from what I have read in the past about them and other lapland santa break operators0

Totally different place, but on our last holiday we did not have the flight details till under two weeks before the date, so don't panic.
One thing I will say is you will have a brilliant time - we took our kids out there when they were little and they plan to take any children they have! It is a wonderful experience for all concerned. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
