I don't know if you use Tesco Deals, but there is a London Eye and Thames lunch cruise package for 2 that would cost you 24.95 in Tesco vouchers. It is on the Buyagift website. Bought it for my M and D last year, and they loved it.0

Does anyone know the cheapest way of doing this? We are going to London this Friday to Monday and staying in East Croydon. It seems the PAYG Oyster isn't an option for that station even though travelcards are.
Is there a minimum that can be put on the Oyster card - say £1.50 for a single fare, use it to get to the Eye and then get the deposit back?0 -

u can add any ammount onto a payg oyster card, just look at the single fares,if u in central london zones ,if u make lots of journeys it will take money to the value of a day travelcard, its called price capping.
most single fares are £1.50 i think+the £3 deposit.0 -
i'm not sure that they would be able to check the usage on your card - would not just showing an oyster card be enough?
then you would not have to put any money on it at all
or the cheapest option, if you had to show you'd used it, would be a single offpeak bus fare at 80p0 -

I don't know whether they check or not, but the t&c's say:
To be eligible for a discount, customers must have used an Oyster card to travel to the venue that day by London Underground, Docklands Light Railway or a Transport for London (TfL) London Bus or tram and must retain and present to venue staff an Oyster card that is valid for that travel on the day of redemption. Oyster cards may be scanned to verify usage.0 -
they do check, ive done the 241 offer before.
cheapest way is probably to take a bus to the london eye (80p on PAYG oyster) and that qualifies you.:A Boots Tart :A0 -

Did you just need to show one card?0
