Finally got all my ducks in a row and sent my finance forms and a bucket load of supporting documents off to the Open University this afternoon by special delivery.
A strange feeling of excitement washed over me this afternoon I relaised that I am really looking forward to starting these first 3 modules in February hopefully the beginning of a whole new life well in time anyhow at least now there is a glimmer of hope on the horizon
Quite a straight forward application as we receive 1 of the qualifying benefits so should all be quite straight forward I cannot wait to receive my course packs now.
For those who have studied at the OU before how long is it generally before the course start date that you recieve your study parcels?

Wow you sound ever so excited and so you should! It's a great feeling knowing that you are doing something so worthwhile by studying.
You get the pack around 3-4 weeks before and I always find it really exciting - I'm such a geek! lol0 -

Hello
Thanks for replying, I am really excited I checked the royal mail website this morning and the application has been signed for so have checked my OU page on their site about 20 times today hoping to see some sort of an update, being a bit impatient lol I know they are hugely busy at the moment....................
3-4 weeks so that will be the beginning of January, I am really looking forward to getting started, I was a bit concerned about the maths module so I am going to do some of the free online modules over Christmas just to make sure my basic knowledge is brushed up on and in the forefront of my mind
How many modules and years have you done? Also what area of study just being nosey
Thanks again0 -
hey oustudent was you doing the same courses as me m150 and t175?
If so t175 books come on 7th jan and the other is on 14th jan. It already tells me on my homepage because i signed up a while ago. It took about 3 days to update that they had my documents and then about a week after that for them to activate that i was on the course on my student page. i can now see that the m150 site becomes live the 3rd Jan and the m150 10th march.0 -

I am studying towards an Open BA/BSC and so far have completed, B120, DB123, DB234, Y162 and now on MU123 so I've still got alot to do! I'm a big fan of the OU though. I previously studied at a brick uni and found their teaching style to be very unorganised!0

Hi CherryPerry
So you have been busy then. What do you think of M123? I am about to start this in February and was a bit concerned for a while about this module, I did well in the online tests on the maths website thats why I decided to go for it how are you finding it? Is it all well explained? I am going to complete some of the free modules on the Open Learn site over Christmas just to refresh my knowledge more than anything............0 -
Hi OUStudent, I only started MU123 in October, so still early days. I am enjoying it very much so far and its very well explained. I'm doing it more as a refresher before I start some stats modules. I haven't studied maths for over 12 years and I have a memory like a seive! Y162 was a good intro to MU123 and eased me in gently, although I found my tutor to be a bit overcritical on Y162! Hope that helps0
