Co-operative Cashminder Account

Hi there
Just wondering if anyone can help with a query I have about the above account?
I would like to open a Cashminder Account, and have just been looking on the Co-op website at information about it.
However, when it comes to proof of ID I have a problem;
I have numerous items to prove my address (where I have lived for 8 years) but when it comes to proof of identity it states;
Passport (never owned one, never been abroad!)
Driving Licence (never owned one, never learnt to drive!)
ID Photo Card (never had one)
Shotgun or Firearms Certificate (definitely never had one of these!)
ID card issued by Electoral Office For Northern Ireland (not got one of these either)
So how on earth can I prove who I am?
Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks

I opened mine over the phone and never had to send ID or anything in, they just took my address information and NI number. Might be worth giving them a call they have really good customer service on the phone0

If when they search you on a CRA they successfully identify you they may not need the additional items (this happened for me and a family member).
give them a call...0 -
You may not need ID if on voters roll etc.
If you have banlk statements, council tax bills, benefits letters etc then these will suffice, if ID is needed.0 -
As others have said try and apply online or over the phone.
Provided you are on the electoral roll at your current address and have a couple of accounts on your credit file and no adverse fraud/aml data then you won’t need to provide physical ID.
Do you have a recent P60? If so that will suffice as type one name ID.

hi there
thanks for all your replies(Sorry I couldnt reply earlier, but aren't online at home at moment, so have to use the library one when I get chance!)
Will contact them and see what they say then. Havn't got any bad credit history or outstanding debts, etc, and am on voters roll so fingers crossed
thanks again
p.s. Nut97 - just noticed you have a Co-op Cashminder account, and you sound happy with them, so would you say it was a good account to have, in terms of them being easy to deal with? Dont have to answer, just interested thats all - thanks0
