I had to change my bank details with my employer this week with very short notice and had my wages paid into my mothers acount. When payroll inputted the new details they have put my name instead of my mums by mistake as the account name. THe account number and sort code are correct though. Its too late for them to change it because bacs payments went through yesterday. Will my mums bank reject the bacs payment because it has my name and not hers. Our surnames are the same but initilas are different.

No, it won't make any difference, the system just goes by the sort code & a/c number.

I'm guessing that any other details such as payee name will only be used if the payment is reported "lost" or is "disputed".
