Portable Tv without a scart cable

I have a TV which is about 10 years old but in totally perfect working order. Only problem is it doesnt have a scart socket so I cant hook up a DVD player or a wireless link form the Sky Digital in the main lounge.

Is there anything I can buy for it, some sort of connection that goes into the aerial on the TV? Along similar lines to an RF lead for the old playstation?

There is a bit of kit you can buy that turns the SKART output from DVD to an RF output that you can feed into the TV. Here comes the BUT ,cant remeber how much they are, but it would be more expensive than your DVD.
Theres 2 Practical ways that you can get around it that I can think of.
One I have done a few times for people is to add a Video into the equation, feed the SKART from DVD to video, then RF out of video into TV, by putting video onto AV channel you can watch DVD that way.
Other way, ok bit more drastic, Buy a new TV, they have come down loads in price.
edit - just re read, assumed was a portable TV. first option should work.

Hmmmm, crafty..... I just happen to have a spare DVD player and a spare video player sitting there, i bought the Bush DVD recorder/video combi so the original ones are boxed up.

I know portables have come down in price, just thought (seeing as Im trying to be a MSE myself) that there may be a way round it.

It's not that expensive to get an RF modulator. The only electronics store that I know of throughout the UK is maplin so here's the link:

£35, not that much money. And it will work for everything. Maybe if you try a local electronics store they will have something a bit cheaper, I didn't really have a look about.

cheap vcr , plug in dvd player and plug into tv (NO SCART)voila , bobs your uncles significant other.

There is also video sender that are 25 quid a pop and they do have uhf out , i got them in aldi a whlie back , but a cheap vcr is about the same.
