Annoying program, wont delete

I've got a notebook with XP and I successfully cleaned out a lot of junk
Its now working reasonably ok except for an annoying program called Magic Box that appears during start up thing.
After Spybot does it's bit allowing various registry entries etc, before I can get started using it a box appears and the words "Magic Box" and "connecting".

Finally it gives up and comes up with "unable to connect to the internet.....and so on

I click cancel and it comes back with "download incomplete" stating the option to try again later with no option buttons at all. At that point to cancel it i must click the cross top right corner.

It does this every time

I cant find any reference to it anywhere in the computer
Has anyone any advice on how i could find it and disable/delete it altogethwe.

Its not my computer by the way and noone seems to know where it came from

As you have mentioned Spybot, you may be able to use it to fix this problem. With Spybot in Advanced mode, click on Tools and then System Startup. See if you can find anything relating to this Magic Box stuff.
