it also says I need a NTSC compatible tv what does that mean ??????
NTSC is the american 60Hz (60 frames per second) format
Just about every new tv would have that as standard

Probably due to your tv not being set correctly

Maybe Rik, it's a new digital one, but will check it out.

    Thanks for the tip.

I'll get back to you on that tomorrow, Rik, I know the TV's LG (but model??) and think the DVD player is Daewoo, but can't go and put the light on to check as it would frighten the tropical fish! Seriously.

Back tomorrow though, and thanks a lot.

    sorry me again

I just don't want to waste my money on a dvd box set that I might not be able to watch
it also says I need a NTSC compatible tv what does that mean ??????

Yes most modern tv's play NTSC, for best results use the dvd remote to switch between viewing formats, ie PAL, NTSC and Multi (which i've found best with Region 1 dvds).
  • Hello, does region 1 play on xbox 360?
if you dont know the answer.... google does!

I believe 60Hz refers to the number of times Tvs refresh ie 60 times a second.

NTSC frame rates are something like 24 or 25 to our 29 or something like that.

anyway most UK TVs& DVD players play NTSC.
