Try here for worktops, he has tons to choose from and delivers nationwide cheaply. Try here for kitchens, much better quality than ikea and not expensive, they also deliver nationwide.

    Good luck :)

  • Another vote in favour of Ikea kitchens. We had ours fitted over 2 years ago and are still very happy with it. And although we ordered a large number of units, fittings and accessories at the time there was nothing missing when they delivered it all.
  • Having never seen an ikea kitchen and never visited an ikea store,i thought i would just see what people thought of them because they get a lot of mention.I've already decided to rule them out and have been to Howdens today to price up a shaker style kitchen. They informed me that these are the biggest sellers at the moment so my reckoning is that it will appeal to the widest range of potential buyers.

As for the tongue in cheek comment,i really don't know what you are implying.

Thank you all for your comments.

Glad you are going to howdens, I think the distance to Ikea along with their unfitter friendly product, you have made the right decision. :T :T

Tongue in cheek moment, well if you want me to spell it out, a wood butcher, referring to someone that chops and hacks at wood, not the obvious terminology for a joiner. :rotfl:
    I had a plan..........its here somewhere.
  • I see.It was a bit late when i read it and didn't get the reference. It comes from when i once turned up at a job and the plumber said to the customer "this must be the woodbutcher".I thought it was funny and have had it as a username on a few sites since.

    Thank you all once again.
  • Don't do it!
Buy a decent kitchen....... we moved into our house with it's fitted Ikea kitchen, what a pile of rubbish. for a start you have to use ONLY ikea parts. the units are of some bizzare Sweedish size sytem that does not match anything in the UK. I made it the first job to tear it out burn it and fit with units from Howdens, B&Q are also good if your doing it on a budget, well made for the price.
  • Thanks Jonny but i had already reached that conclusion.Getting one from Howdens. Also found a link on another thread for diy kitchens website and they look excellent for quality and price.Worth checking out if you don't mind buying online.

If thats national kitchens youre talking about then aye, theyre a great company. We bought ours from there and love it. The whole kitchen came completely built already, fitting was easy peasy :D
