Got speaking to E.On bloke in Morrisons this morning
He worked it out I could save £219.22 by switching from British Gas to E.On.
British Gas, Fixed Price 2011, Paid Quarterly, he put medium user down but I think we're more low user to be honest
British Gas - £668 (approx)
Eon - £219 (think this was the saving)
I said that I was tied in to British Gas till Fixed Price finished and he said that E.On would be paying that £70 cancellation fee as part of the savings I would be making (or some spiel like that). I'd be getting £52 for switching and then an instant 3% deduction (possibly for going duel fuel? not sure).
He said that this offer stood for 14 days and to think about it. I said I would have to talk it over with OH anyway. I didnt take any paperwork from him or sign anything.
Fingers crossed that he doesnt start a transfer on my behalf.

Surely you know how much you are paying to BG?Fingers crossed that he doesnt start a transfer on my behalf.
Only if you were foolish enough to give him your details.0 -
He will be getting about £100 commission for shifting you. You can get the same for moving yourself if you go via a cashback site.
And if he is naughty phone your supplier to class it is an erroneous transfer.0 -
Two words " Salesman" and "lies" check a comparison website for the cheapest deal for you.His Heart Proved He Was A RedSuarez, SuarezWe Bought The Lad From AmsterdamWe Know He's Not a Chelsea Fan.Fernando Torres = El Judas0

I would say "no thanks2 and walk away, I dont even give them chance to speak much. All you will get are lies at worse or biased opinions from a salesman0

Eon WILL NOT pay the BG canx charge. The BG fix price is a dog of a tariff and any switch off it will be cheaper but it is unlikely the save will be £200+ if you are a low user. Call BG ask for your annual consumption and go on a comparison website. If this is just Gas only bill we're talking about the £52 is actually £50 reward paid to you after a year of being an Eon customer, you will be on the Standard Eon tariff for that period to get the £50, and the 3% discount is if you pay the quarterly bill within 14 days of receiving it, Eon, on the following bill will discount cost by 3%0
