Hi All,
Had a quick look on the board but couldn't see anything (plus didnt want to spend hours going back!:)). Just wondered if anyone has had any luck claiming back their CC charges with Capital One?
Sent off my letter a couple of weeks ago, not heard back yet (no suprise there!) but was just interested to see how other people have got on?

Make sure you send them everything recorded or they just claim they haven't received it!
Sent my first letter - got a reply offering me the difference between the £12 charges and the higher ones.
Replied with second letter saying I refused that offer and quoted from OFT report - received second offer offering me all the charges plus an amount towards the contractual interest I'd claimed (34.9%, if I had known what I know now when I was offered that interest rate!!!!) Accepted and got cheque for the remainder after my balance was cleared in about 3-4 weeks.
They were a bit slow on the replies, I asked for responses within 2 weeks on all letters but was generally 3-4 weeks from them.0 -
Sent my first letter requesting a list of charges on 5th November this month. Got them a week later. Then wrote a letter asking for all my charges plus interest back...£1195 to be exact. They wrote back within a week and offerred me £386. I have since wrote back refusing this and demanding full payment. Havent heard back yet but they seem quite easy to deal with!
Good luck with your claim x0 -
I had the same experience as Podperson, so persevere and if you don't have any joy, send your complaint to the FOS. Good luck0

Floyd, unfortunately you won't have much luck with bank charges at the moment unless you can show financial hardship, but credit card charges are not affected by the court ruling so much easier to get back. Good luck with it.0

Hi finally got an acceptable offer from Cap 1 today. Wrote my original letter on sept 5th 2010 asking for £890 in refunded CC charges. Heard nothing until mid Nov, letter from Cap 1 sayting they had written to me in Oct, but were offering £300 as a good will gesture. I refused this and got a reviewed offer of £851.51 which i have accepted.
Keep onto them, you will het there in the end0
