The hard drive on my computer failed and a local computer shop replaced it and reinstalled the operating system, what used to be the C drive is now labeled as I, is it possible to change it back to C without reinstalling the O/S as the programs I have backed up on an external drive will not install unless I change the drive path.

Are you using Windows XP? Not sure you can do this as it looks like I is the boot disk, which you can't rename. However, here are the instructions so you could try:
Click Start, point to Settings and and then click Control Panel. Double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Computer Management.
Click Disk Management.
Right-click on the drive you want to change the name of, then click Change Drive Letter and Paths.
Click the drive letter you want to change, click Change, type the letter you want and press OK.

If it is the boot drive then the only way to change the letter is a complete reinstallation and making sure it is the C: drive when the partition is created."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
