1. In which state is Surfers Paradise located? Queensland
2. Which two cities does the Great Ocean Road connect? Warrnambool and Torquay
3. How many sisters are there in the Blue Mountains? Three
4. Name the two valleys that comprise the most of South Australia's wine region. Barossa and Eden (I think, though it could be Barossa and Clare, check and decide for yourself)
5. How many endemic species of bird is Tasmania home to? 12
6. The Aboriginal Land Rights Act of what year allowed aborigines to claim rights to land based on traditional occupation? 1976
T&C - can't paste or link, too long to type, but prize is 12 night holiday for two, must be taken by 1 Dec 11 and excludes Christmas and New Year period, one entry per person.
Searched but couldn't find, so hopefully not a dupe.
Good luck.

Thought I'd seen this before. There was an early comp that is now in GO.
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2816878
This one has a repeated question. The second ones asks which CITIES.
I've found this on the Australia.Com website.
http://www.australia.com/itineraries/melbourne_adelaide_gor.aspx
So the controversy still stands..CITIES or start /end points? Thanks to those that post the comps!!

Many thanks for the input. My understanding is that your reference from Australia .com suggests Melbourne and Adelaide may the answer but as I believe these are Australian “capitals” and not “cities” this may rule out this possible solution.
If I understand correctly the question does not ask for the start/finish point of the Great Ocean Road but asks “Which two cities does the Great Ocean Road connect?”
Therefore, whilst it is clear that Torquay is the start of one end of the road, the question is whether Torquay is an Australian “city”?
On Wikipedia, Torquay is designated both as a “city” in the original post but as a “township” here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torquay,_Victoria
“Torquay is a township in Victoria, Australia, which faces Bass Strait, 21 km. south of Geelong and is the gateway to the Great Ocean Road”
And from Torquay’s own website….. http://www.torquay.com/new/torquay_australia.asp
“Torquay is Victoria’s surfing capital, and a major holiday resort town”
and here….. http://www.travelvictoria.com.au/torquay/
“The beach front town of Torquay is located 22 kilometres south of Geelong and at the northern end of the Surf Coast section of the Great Ocean Road”.
Geelong may therefore be a possible answer>>>
http://www.travelvictoria.com.au/geelong/
Geelong is Victoria's second largest city…… as well as being the gateway to the famous Great Ocean Road, which begins just south of Geelong at Torquay.
…and from- http://www.australia.com/destinations/icons/great_ocean_road.aspx
“Take a ride through nature on the spectacular Great Ocean Road, which winds alongside the wild and windswept Southern Ocean from Geelong to Portland.”
This reference to Portland, of course, adds confusion to what may be the correct city at the other end.
However, from the Visit Victoria website -http://www.visitvictoria.com/displayobject.cfm/objectid.00009762-ED40-1A7D-805680C476A90000/
“Recognised as one of the world’s most scenic drives, the Great Ocean Road follows the stunning coastline of Victoria’s south-west. Stretching 243 kilometres from Torquay, just south of Geelong, to Allansford, just east of Warrnambool”
If this reference is accepted then there is nothing to suggest that Warrnambool is a not a city and it is the next city after Allansford.
http://www.travelvictoria.com.au/warrnambool/
and from the http://visitgreatoceanroad.org.au/great-ocean-road/highlights/the-great-ocean-road
“The Great Ocean Road is a two lane roadway (one lane in each direction) traveling approximately 243 kms from Torquay to Allansford with generally ocean beaches on one side and bush settings on the other.
Allansford is 10 kms from Warrnambool. Torquay is 96 kms from Melbourne and 22 kms from Geelong
The Great Ocean Road, which stretches along the South Eastern coast of Australia between the Victorian cities of Geelong and Warrnambool, is in itself the world's biggest war memorial.”
Just to finish off - there is conflicting evidence as to whether Portland is a town or a city…
From http://www.travelvictoria.com.au/portland/
“Portland is a place of historic discovery with over 200 buildings within the town…..”
But from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portland,_Victoria
“Portland was proclaimed a city on Monday October 28, 1985…”
All in all, even if it is a city, I think Portland, being further past Warrnambool is not the answer.
All academic for me as I went with Kavajo’s answer (and I am grateful for that) but you never know they might ask the question again!!!!!!0 -
Having driven along The Great Ocean Road...
My answer is going to be Adelaide & Melbourne regardless of what wikipedia says. Would be very interested to find out what the confirmed answer is though afterwards!2011 - unsecured debt free :j
2036 - mortgage free

I lived in Melbourne for 8 years and I'd agree that the two cities are Melbourne and Adelaide. Torquay is definately a town not a city.
Been down the Great Ocean Road many times, it's the most beautiful place x:beer:Thank you to all posters:beer:
