Having trouble Transfering Balance off your Argos Credit Card?? Solution!

Hey Hey. Cheeky.Monkey here. I work in Santander's customer services and i THINK i've found the solution for the Evil Argos Credit card not letting you transfer a balance!!

As some of you may have experienced before. its almost impossible to get the card number to work for the BT. When ringing argos your sometimes told to take off the first few digits of the card number to make it 16-digits. But when trying to do this for a customer last week it still failed.

So after a quick search around argos' website i found their payment methods page. I went to try the account number and sort code (as if i was making a payment), but using the balance transfer screen. (the same process as when a credit card is in credit so we can transfer it back to a current account) and VOILA! It actually went through!!

Ive been checking back to make sure it won't reverse and it hasn't, which im pleased about.

So from now on guys. (i dunno if other banks would allow of course but santander does). If it doesn't work when trying the card number, ask the advisor to take the account number and sort code for argos' bank, which is below, using your card number (16 digits) as the reference. And you SHOULD be left smiling
