Would you bother negging?

Hi all, I have a buyer who is not responding to my emails or the invoice sent out earlier in the week. It'll be 7 days tomorrow and I'll be reporting the unpaid item then and relisting it. Would you bother to leave negative feedback for the buyer (xlil-zoex) ? I only ask because she has 0 feedback so if she negged me back it would cause more harm to me (carolinerpink) than it would her. But on the other hand it seems unfair not to neg her in case some other seller gets stuck with her.... what do you think?

If you neg her, she will have -1 and be unable to bid on a lot of auctions, which sounds like a good thing.

If she doesn't respond to the unpaid item dispute she won't be able to leave you feedback in return. I'd suggest waiting for the dispute to close before deciding.

I agree with the previous poster, wait until the dispute has closed before making any further decision as to what to do. I would defo leave her negative feedback though. Shes maybe an inexperience ebayer that doesnt understand the system, but either way she should have replied to your emails

Thanks guys, I'll follow your advice. Personally I think she's been testing the system and has got cold feet when she actually won something but it's a bit bizarre as she bidded at the last minute for that item. Oh well, you can't win 'em all and the rest of my buyers have been fab.

That reminds me of the horror story that someone posted (not usre where) of an ebay newbie who was overheard to say: "I've won a load of stuff now I've just got to decided if I want to go ahead and buy it"

Could be they're a time waster.
Just be professional, send your invoices & reminder emails.

But I would never leave a Neg feedback until a good time after the transaction, maybe even a month after end of listing & no response from bidder.

Just in case they had some silly problem.
Some people don't have a clue & have all sorts of stupid problems.

You may get retaliatory Neg feedback, so you don't want to file too many Negs at same time. Just occasionally to keep yourself happy & so people know you may leave Neg if they mess around.

File ebay dispute to get your fees refunded.

  • I concur with advice to wait until after the dispute is closed before leaving feedback. I'd probably also check if they've bought or bid on anything else recently. It could be they've just changed their mind, or there could be some other problem, e.g. they may no longer have internet access.
