ebay vehicle listing

I've listed a vehicle on ebay and in less than 24 hours had two emails that seem a bit dodge. both ask for firm price and want to pay via paypal without completing through ebay.

I've specified cash on collection as don't want them to dispute transaction after collection and get paypal to refund.

2nd emailer very strange wants to pay by paypal without seeing vehiclem, arrange 3rd party collection, wants me to pay for collection via westion union and then paypal me that as well. have looked at paypal terms and seller protection doesn't cover delivery that is not traceable online.

does this sound dodgy or like a fraudulent scam to anyone else?
has anyone else heard of / experience of this type of transaction before?

Thanks

As soon as you see the words "Western Union" run a mile! Block them from bidding if possible. This is the classic Nigerian scam routine. I would email the first bidder back and say you are accepting cash on collection only and I would tell the 2nd guy to take a running jump with his Western Union plans. :)

Edit: Just to add further, your first payment to them in lieu of collecting the car will suddenly require another payment due to unforseen circumstances. This continues with the amounts slowly rising and you get to a point where you feel that you cannot stop as you will lose what you have already paid to them and they will constantly tease you about paying back the full amount plus maybe 50% on top for your trouble. They will never ever pay you a single penny, they will just tell lie after lie to extract as much money as possible out of you before moving onto their next victim. Never ever fall for this scam! If someone is asking you to pay them for something that you are selling then something is clearly wrong! It's a well known scam, keep well away.

Hi, I just sold a car on Ebay for the first time and put this
"Pay £200 (non refundable) Paypal within 24 hours and the rest cash on collection within 7 days please.
STRICTLY NO CHEQUES, MONEY ORDERS, TRANSFERS ETC."
As a result I had no attempts at scamming at all. You can easily edit your add.
