Honeymoon ideas

We are looking for somewhere to gonon honeymoon at end of august next year but not sure where to go. We want to go somewhere warm with a nice beach but also with interesting places to visit. Any ideas?

What kind of budget are you looking at? And when you say places to visit what kind of things are you into?

Budget would be about 1.5k - not really into water sports but like to learn about the history of the place I visit and see the sights.

Well Crete has already been suggested and I think the Greek Islands may be a good bet. Croatia may fit the bill too. Wherever I think staying in Europe is best bet as you'll be able to get a decent hotel and the weather is good when you are going.

Croatia looks amazing and seems to have lots of sights and castles, as well as beautiful beaches and islands. Greek Islands would make a geat honeymoon. I always think Venice is the perfect honeymoon destinataion and you could combine that with a beach holiday if you wanted to although August is maybe a bit warm for wandering around Venice. Most places around the mediteranean would just be too hot for me that time of year. Iona in Scotland has a lovely beach but you can't rely on the weather there at any time of year.
