I wouldn't put anything past this bunch of crooks
Pretty harsh I think. Considering what they were left with by the previous lot.
GB was the 'crook' that raided my pension fund, and shut down a UK sub bank of an icelandic parent by stealing their funds in UK banks.
Only time will tell if this 'lot' are crooks too.0 -
Increase on ceiling for employer contributions; improved offer for those nearing retirement = very little on table.
Cannot see RPI/CPI being changed, unless through judicial review.
Anyone any idea when this is expected by the way.
About 10 days time I believe, but it could run till December.0 -

This action is the Biggest Theft from pensioners by any Government in living memory, both public and private pensioners are being robbed by this change, but so are state pensioners because they now will recieve only CPI increases in future, if CPI is greater than 2.5% or average wages, they would have had RPI.
The total stolen runs in to Billions of pounds, it's £83bn alone from the private sector, so they are CON artists and crooks.
This change is Wrong and we need to fight, and fight hard to put it RIGHT.0 -

Thanks for that link to an excellent article. I'm going to copy it and send it to my MP. He may wish to hide behind bland statements produced by some central office in the Treasury but he needs to know that I know that this is a con.0 -
I note there was no mention of the RPI/CPI swindle on either BBC or ITV evening news, even though public sector pensions were a headline item. I do wish that folks (and unions) would wake up0

Well seeing as how the last time they were in they Major & Lamont did the same thing as GB I wouldn't be to surprised0 -

Well, Eddie Mair did raise that in his interview with Francis Maud on todays BBC Radio 4 'PM' programme. The 'honourable member' said that since the RPI to CPI change had already been introduced, it was not open for negotiation. After hearing the interview I contacted the program to ask why Eddie didn't ask, if CPI is 'the most suitable measure of inflation', why then are the pensions of MPs and members of the Bank of England still uprated by RPI?
Our Prime Ministers recent use of the word 'hypocrite' seems very apt.0 -

Yes you are right viridens and the report on both channels was disgraceful. They ignored one of the vital core issues i.e. the move from the RPI to the CPI. As we all know, no matter what pension you get you stand to lose between 15% and 25% of it over a lifetime by this Condem robbery. This is not only for public sector pensioners but a vast number of private sector pensioners as well and the news channels should report this.
However, one Union has got it right. Have a read of the following from the PCS website.

All of you from other Unions and Pensioner organisations should urge them to reflect something similar and make this absolutely clear to the Government.0 -

It's a pity Eddie Mair did not also ask Maude something along the lines of "What negotiation did you carry out before you introduced the change from the RPI to the CPI Minister?"0
