New government e-petions site now up. Sorry I can't post the link but search e-petitions gov uk

    What are e-petitions?

e-petitions is an easy way for you to influence government policy in the UK. You can create an e-petition about anything that the government is responsible for and if it gets at least 100,000 signatures, it will be eligible for debate in the House of Commons.

Takes a week before they show up, they have to be checked first

I have been Hors de combat for a while and consequently haven't kept up my opposition to the RPI/CPI swindle, but I've just signed the e-petition (which was my idea in the first place incidentally. - Read back in this thread!)

I see that HM Govt. have added extra hoops to jump through compared to the previous Labour 'No. 10' petitions procedure.

I shall be spreading the word and canvassing support. Unfortunately, many previously livid pensioners seem to be lapsing into apathy. This one won't.

And I repeat: I only ask for what I was promised in black and white by my pension scheme rules. I do not consider the fact that successive government experts got their sums and projections wrong a valid excuse for moving the goal post retrospectively to short change pensioners. Neither do I believe that the value of my pension should be reduced in order to finance demonstrably incompetent banks whose 'experts' made unwise investments in the Emperor's new clothes....
  • You can also access the petition from the CSPA website.

    www.cspa.co.uk/index.htm

SIGN NOW PEOPLE AND SPREAD THE WORD
  • Total number signing the petition now stands at 15,802 and rising. :T

It may be useful for you to write to your MP inviting them to sign the petition. You could also ask them to advise all those who have written to them about the RPI to CPI robbery that this petition is up and running.

Those of you who are members of trade unions or pensioner organisations should ask them to alert their members and put a link to the petition on their web sites.

The first target is 100,000 signatures.

    The epetition is at

In case you are not aware, please note that in order for your signature to be validated, the site returns an email with a link to click, so make sure you give a correct email address and then go back into your emails to click the link otherwise your entry is not valid.

The battle has begun again and we need everyone to spread the word, lets hit well above the 100k target!!!
  • Nice to have you back Ripoff.

    Bring it on!!
  • Glad to see this issue is still alive with everyone!

I have placed a notice in the window of my local Post Office (and I wasn't charged!) to publicise the epetition.

On a related note, Govt is to cease funding half-price concessionary fares on National Express coaches for over 60's. See my post here: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/46306009#Comment_46306009
