I don't think he would be entitled to any benefits if he gave up his job voluntarily, especially if it is with the aim to avoid paying his debt (which will not go away, just go dormant).
  • If his earnings are less than benefits then its not voluntarily giving up his job. It also stops any new liabilities accruing. If the CSA chooses not to be reasonable then more fool the CSA.

    Anyway, back to the point...
Voluntarily giving up a job? Why would anyone do that?

My feelings exactly.....When you read something like this thread it makes you wonder if its for real or are the people for real or just wind up merchants.

CSA for 2 kids is 20%.....not sure how many kids 40% relates to 5 or 6?????

Think the OP's partner is looking for an excuse to pack in working and live off benefits.....Wonder what his excuse would be to get out of travelling the 20 miles

The maximum percentage is 25% for 3 or more kids they take 40% if u owe arrears and there is nothing u can do about it when the arrears are clear it returns back to 20% or 25 for 3 or more kids

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p
