Problems with repair work on car insurance claim

Hi
My car was stolen as a result a home burglary. The vehicle has been recovered by the police but the locks now need changing.
I’ve so far waited 4 weeks, after speaking to the repair garage today I’ve been told that they can’t hold of replacement locks for my car (Saab Estate), furthermore they couldn’t give any assurances about when they’ll be able to source some – apparently they’re like hens teeth to get hold of.
I now feel left in limbo. I have a Corsa courtesy car which isn’t really fit for purpose (my job requires me to do 1000 miles a week), I have 3 children, two requiring car seats. I’ve complained to my insurance company and asked about the possibility of getting a more suitable vehicle, which they’ve turned down.
What are my best avenues of complaint? Are insurance companies obliged to repair vehicles within a set period? I feel like trying to source the parts myself, not that I should be required to!
I’m feeling exasperated by the whole process – any advice would be greatly appreciated

Probably not entitled to a larger car. Not sure repairs have to be done within a set period. Can't see that it is the Insurers fault if the locks are not held in stock and there is a delay getting them.
Phone around to see if you can source them.

The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0
