I'd just like to make you all aware of my recent dealings with this company...
I had a leased van (2008 Volkswagen Transporter) up until yesterday. My policy with More Th>n business ran out on Nov 5th and my renewal was vastly uncompetitive. I had purchased a 2002 Citreon Berlingo as a little runaround and new that I would be needing to insure this from Nov 22nd.
I discussed this with several insurers at the time and Autonet assured me that if I took out the policy with themselves for the VW and then did a change of vehicle when required, they would be competitive and agreed that they would be close to the price i'd recieved for the Citroen as if it were a 12mth policy.
I phoned them yesterday after my leased vehicle had been collected and was informed that I'd need to pay a £29.95 admin charge to changeover the vehicle and that there was no alteration to the premium. I kicked up a fuss and got them to waive the admin charge and reduce the premium by £226.00 (still way above other quotes, but I'm tied, so what can I do).
I asked them to email me over the insurance certificate so I can tax the vehicle and was informed that they can't do that. I then asked them to pass me through to the cancellations department and was told they were busy and would ring back. NO PHONE CALL YESTERDAY. Phoned again this morning, same thing and NO PHONE CALL BACK. Phoned again and kicked up a massive stink, only to be told it would cost me near £400.00 in penalty charges etc to cancel. They then announced that if I stay they could email me over the insurance certificate afterall. It is now an hour later and still no certificate.
I've been off the road for two days (losing near £400 in wages as im a self employed electrician) added to a ridiculous premium and several hours premium rate phonecalls. THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. Insurance companies are the biggest crooks on earth.
