NT Tax Code payments

Hi all.

I hope every on here is well. I keep showing my face from time to time to impart my wisdom and keep in touch on the gossip in the inn !!!!

Just a little bit of advise required.

Me & Mrs F went BR in May'10. I have an IPA and she doesn't, so i have been paying that for some time now and therefore have dealings with Moonbeever on that.

Mrs F has had to send her wage slip to MB every month and we have now received a letter stating that she need to pay the agreed amount to them , as she has stopped paying tax. Duly sorted and paid.

I have NEVER had one letter from MB re my NT tax code. My tax stopped on my last pay day. Obviously i have signed the agreement with the OR to pay my tax back, but i have no MB reference or correspondence to do that.

Obviously i have not spent this money and it is sitting in my account, but what would your next step be ?

1. Ring MB and discuss the matter with them

2. Sit tight and save the money and see what happens. Obviously with XMAS around the corner, the security of a little cushion in the account might be handy. If REALLY REALLY needed, i'm not an idiot.

3. I am an idiot, buy myself something nice with the money and play dumb :rotfl:

Cheers Guys and Gals

PS further question re: gas and electricity demands to follow later in the week (a little teaser for you all)

Falze.

My DH's nil tax kicked in on his Jan 10 payslip, but we didnt hear from MB until mid March 10 for collection of it.

Not sure if thats normal but I would say just put it to one side for now (don't spend it!) and hopefully you will hear in due course.

MIL and GMIL have paid for most of it, as theire cortibution. I think it was £150 total. Got Bridesmaid dress on ebay for £8 for youngest so bargain. Me Dad's given me his wedding ring so no cost there. Local pub are doing food at cost for me and no hire charges (many years of miss spent time paying off) Cheap registry office - Hopefully £400 tops in total.

    Not traditional, then party !!!

Oh yeah Wills and whatshername stealing my thunder. Ours is the next day.

My nil tax rate came into effect this month. Still waiting for Moon Beever/OR to tell me what to do with the money (all £105 of it so far).

In the meanwhile, it is sitting in a (very trusted and fiscally secure :rotfl:) friend's "spare" savings account waiting for someone to tell me what to do with it.

I know she won't spend it. This way I can't spend it. And as soon as they ask for it, a couple of internet transfers later, and it's with them.

And this way, I might even make a few pence interest!
We may not have it all together, but together we have it all
