Would this affect my policy

I took my insurance policy out earlier this year. When I did it, I was a student in full time education and had a part time job. Since then, I have left college and have finished at my part time job but now have an apprenticeship where I study for 3 weeks on and then go to the work place for 3 weeks. This will continue until June of next year. I haven't reported my change of circumstances to my insure as I never thought about it. I have since been involved in a minor accident where I was at fault but the other people in the car are claiming for personal injury. I was speaking with my insurance company about the accident and I told them that I was coming home from work. They asked what I did and I said I was an apprentice (although I had finished work, I was heading for a night out).
Will this make my insurance void as I haven't informed them of any changes. I was going to mention it when I renewed my insurance at the beginning of next year.
Please help as I am worried sick now.

I can't see them voiding the insurance - unless your new apprenticeship involves driving or is motor related. Technically you are working part time - however wait for the insurers to do their bit, I'm sure it will be fine.0

You did need to tell them about it when you got a full time job, and they may make an issue over this.
Maybe more of a worry, though, is are you covered for commuting?0 -
I have just checked the policy and it does say it covers commuting. When I took the policy out, I told them I was at college full time and worked part time. My place of study has changed, as has my place of work. You could say that I study part time and work part time as my time is split between the 2. I don't want to mention anything at the moment with a claim going through but will tell them when I renew in February.0

Read up in your policy about notifying them of changes - some need to be done immediately and some prior or at renewal. If you are supposed to inform them of changes to your occupation immediately, then do so now! (Your claim sounds a big one, and won't just be nodded through without them checking you out)0

Normally accidental insurance policies do not have such clauses. But any insurance company may require you to declare your occupation as and when you change it. Some occupations may be hazardous and some may not be. Say you are working as a driver, your accidental insurance premium may be more than others because you are more vulnerable to an accident than others.
However I don't think a student and apprentice working part time does not make any difference to the policy terms and premium and you should get your claim.Helping others is our responsibility, but thanking others is a virtue. Thank you. My apprenticeship is only for 9 months, where it is half training and half working. I am paid by the company I work for but there is no guarantee that I will be taken on at the end of it. I was going to mention something when I renewed my policy in February as my circumstances might change during that years policy but at the moment, it is more or less the same as it was when I took the policy out, just at different locations.0
