Hi I am going to college in January as a part time student. I was wondering if there is anyone who could advise me on what i can apply for in the way of grants and loans??????
my other concern is that my partner works and we get benefits for our boys as they both have learning difficulties. Would my claim be effected by this and would the benefits stop?????

What course/level are you studying?
Have you studied at this level before?
Where are you studying?
How old are you?
Are you paying for fees?
What benefits are you referring to?0 -

My partner is claiming working tax credits,
I don't think your partner's WTC is likely to be affected.
As a PT degree level student you may be able to get a Fee Grant and a Course Grant.
You and your partner may be able to claim income based benefits depending on how much your partner earns - the fee and course grants don't count as income when working out benefit entitlement.
For more information on what you may be entitled to and how to apply see Finance for PT Students at direct.gov.uk0 -

The only grant (don't think OP is entitled) that affects WTC is the adults dependant grant.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

You don't get any maintenance funding for part time courses as you are expected to be supporting yourself from earnings (or partner's earnings) and/or benefits. If your household income is low enough you will be eligible for a grant for the fees and a small extra amount for resources.0
