GHD sale site - genuine?

Thanks savemoney and jellynose, I'll bookmark that site. Should be very useful in the Christmas shopping season, might save some expensive mistakes. That site is very convicing isn't it!
Skint-student-nurse, thanks for the Boots straighteners suggestion - I do think their own versions of things are often as good as the branded ones that are twice the price, but I think DS is more interested in the label than the actual item as he is trying to impress GF. Oh to be 18 again ....:rotfl:Oh dear, here we go again.0 -
As a rule of thumb I avoid any Chinese registered site never take for granted the co.uk is a uk based web site
Also any site that uses hotmail/gmail account for contact and or have no contact details or hide it behind a proxy is another indication to me to avoid0 -
Good advice savemoney, thank you.Oh dear, here we go again.0

I would suggest your son speaks to his GF and finds out how lable concious she is. There are many other brands of straighteners out there but for some the difference in real GHDs and other brands is obvious- it just depends how concious you are of that. I would try finding this out as it could be the difference in a fantastic gift and an ebay sale! (Sorry to be blunt!). I am with the GHD camp, been through a few brands (babylis, Trevor Sorbee, Nutriheat, Wahl...) and do notice the difference (still don't own a pair, just been using my mums on occasion) but then thats just me.
Another idea is to leave her to get her own paid but get loads of heat protection items. Kerastase to a nice but expensive type (£12 to £18 a bottle depending on where its from) you only need a small amount (10p sized blob, massage into palms, massage into hair.) Overusing is easy and you don't get better results for overusing it so make sure she knows how to use it properly or it will go in no time! (Kerastase Nectar Thermique). Doesn't have to be used with straighteners, heat activates the product so blow drying also works. Could be a cheaper way to spoil her anyway!0 -
Jenniewb, you read my mind - I'm going to have a 'girlie chat' with her at the weekend and work in the subject of whether brands are better. DS is as subtle as a brick so she would see right through his efforts!
She does have really beautiful thick shiny hair (cow!) so I think the idea of some really good products is one I might steal if he gets the straighteners. I think she would really appreciate it. She is pregnant and feeling a bit unattractive atm so anything to make her feel pampered would be good!Oh dear, here we go again.0 -
I think if it were me, I would much prefer Kerestase products (Kerastase Masque Age Recharge for me, an I agree the nectar is brilliant too) than a cheaper pair of straighteners. The reason why I say this is nothing to do with brand name (although it is well known), it is because I have used straighteners for years, every brand I can think of and each one has broken within a year and for me buying one set of decent straighteners which double up as a curler which lasts for years and years outweighs the cost of having to buy a new set everytime a cheaper brand breaks.
I even have a spare set of brand new GHD's in case if anything ever happens to my first set, they are that good!Comping wishlist for 2017

I just had to order a ghd gold straightener for my mum from ghd which cost £129.00 she says that they are one of the best and she used to be a hairdresser, wouldn't advise buying from these dodgy sites you don't know what you are getting.0

Oh god, I had an email about cheap hair straighteners the other day...where was it?! I'm going to have a hunt because I'm sure I saw some for like £89 in an email from a big retailer? It might have been ASOS?0

FOUND IT!
It's on Lookfantastic.com, pretty reputable people as far as I'm aware, and £91.50 free delivery. Thats only like 8.50 off but still pretty good, theyre normally a hundred and something. http://www.lookfantastic.com/hair/ghd-haircare/irons/ghd-iv-styler.html
Alternatively you can get them at ASOS for £99 with a free ghd hair spray thing.0
