Gas fire or central heating?
Comments
-
I have been testing this out recently - I found that my boiler uses roughly 3 times more gas than my fire, so I have the heating on in the mornings ( so my bedroom and bathroom are warm) and have the gas fire on in the living room in the evening.0

You are paying for the pilot light to be on any way. So just as well to use the boiler.
Control the heating to individual rooms by using the Valve thingy TVR?
Also an electric blanket is good source of cheap heat. You probably need to cover it to prevent linting, but literally pennies per evening.0
