Windows Updates

I have set windows to tell me when new updates are available but not to automatically install them so I can look through them - I am now getting a very long list of updates that I do not want to install, for example in my optional updates I have 50 different language packages, and in my 'important' updates I have loads for Internet Explorer and Word 2007 - Neither of which I use so its pointless installing updates, the thing is every time I open the list all these older updates come up tick boxed, so I then have to manually go through them all again and untick the ones I do not want to install - Is there anyway of deleting or hiding these unwanted updates from the list?

Depends on your version of Windows but it's a right-click or similar to hide updates you don't want to see any more.

You must have Word installed or you wouldn't be getting patches for it so if you don't use it and don't want patches uninstall it.

Parts of IE are used elsewhere in windows I think so even if you don't use it why not just install the updates anyway.

Yes its installed and use Word etc but very rarely rest of the office package which I get updates for - IE is only add-on support/security updates and is pointless installing something I won't need - Also seem to get a lot of other pointless updates such as support for a 2TB harddrive etc (mines only 160GB!), or updates for video cards I do not have etc
