BT Reconnection (and Sky too)

Im due to go travelling this summer and was going to disconnect BT phoneline and Sky Digital before I go. Will either company charge and sort of reconnection fee when I return? if so it may end up cheaper to leave each service switched on, and if so I would change to the cheapest package for eah.

There is no connection fees,i canceled both sky and bt while i was away for a year in oz as did not see point in paying for bt line rental and sky while away and probably saved a fortune.
But you might just need to ask them incase but i did not pay anything to connect to bt again but then. they do say that you might loose your phone number,i was lucky and got it back after 12 months.
Im not sure about sky as i canceled it as well and have not started them again as i am hoping when back in work to get some sort of deal out them with the sky+ or even i might never start them again as there monthly costs are getting a joke.

As long as you've been with Sky over 12 months there's no problem, give hem 1 months notice before you go and on your return you're likely to find reconnection offers.

As for BT, best bet is to give them a call and see what they can do, they're a lot more responsive to customers now they don't have a total monopoly.
