It's not your house. You rent it, or did you forget.

And once again your lies are being found out because there is no way you pay the previously claimed 5000 baht a month for it.

Is this another one of your 'I'm going to Vertigo tonight' moments, Dave?

Do Bendix and sibley know each other in real life?

That house reminds me of a nice enough suburban house in SW london, Ham or somewhere. What is traditional Thai architecture like? I love the idea of going to Thailand for a holiday but I'm put off by a lot of the people who you'd share the flight with.

Thing is, if being a couple were the main answer to living in a £500k house an awful lot more people would be living in half mill houses.
They spunked it up the wall on bling though instead :)

No, but I know his type all too well. They're the type you fear sharing the flight with, with the hooker wives and fake watches bought from Sukhumvit Road hawker stalls, bigging it up because unlike their !!!!poor lives back in the west, they are able to lord it over the locals in Thailand because they've got more spending power.

    White trash, all of them.

That house may or may not be the one Sibley claims to rent. It's a fairly typical suburban detached place - not a bad example. They're a bit bland inside but can be made very nice.

I wouldn't call it traditional Thai architechture - those would be the wooden teak houses you see in smaller towns and villages. Hua Hin as a lot of them.

But like much of Thailand, more people are preferring the western style of architecture now.

You don't know my TYPE at all.

I hate to agree with anything you say but I don't like 90% of the English people you are speaking about.

Does it not occur to you that there may actually be another TYPE of person that maybe you never come in contact with???

Maybe, just maybe there are people that own a nice house in UK. Maybe they had a good job but just didn't want to be part of the rat race anymore. Instead of moaning about it they actually applied themselves to changing their lives and now live in the country they wanted to be in.

You want traditional Thai culture. Fine.
That does not make you a better person than me.

It's no secret that Thailand has a big adult entertainment scene and I admit I love every minute of it. I work hard at my job and enjoy my time off. We don't have any kids and the wife and I are over 21. I do not see any reason why it makes us bad or white trash.

You like Hua Hin. I detest the place. It's full of boring impotent ex pats who think they are something special. Most are married to ex hookers but choose to believe their wife is different. Who cares anyway?

My rented house is very cheap. It needed a fair amount of money spent on it. We did the work in return for a 2 year lease. No big deal. When we move out it will return to the going rate I expect.

Now you run along and read todays Bangkok post.
I bet you are one of the TYPE who write in the readers letters section.:rotfl:

There are 12 month residential parks near where I am but TBH I have never understood the attraction. Scottish winter is no place for a static caravan looking over the firth of tay/north sea

  • Yes, white trash, very good, a very apt term for Sibley and his ilk.

Gloomy you don't even have the money for a chalet in.:p

You are such a happy little soul. I bet you have loads of friends and a great social life. NOT.

Having spent 2 days now, investigating chalets.... it seems one really needs to estimate an average of £6-12k per year just for it to exist .... and to run the wrath of the site owner and potential for being thrown off the site if you attempt to fly under the radar and live in it.

Even at £6k/year and getting away with it, chalets are mostly only open 7-10 months of the year, leaving you still with a lot of hassle/cost to locate yourself somewhere else for those months. You also don't have an actual address, which is more than a nuisance as you start to not be able to prove who you are.

If you're determined though, in some areas, for some people's situation, it might just be possible.

I did see a plot of land for sale the other month near me, with Planning Permission for "One Permanent Travellers Pitch", I was tempted to look into that and see how one qualified as a traveller. And for those who are looking for a freehold pitch, upon which to stick a mobile home - there's one on Hayling Island, with its own launching ramp for boats, shared between 4 plots, for £75k - and they even chuck in the current mobile home http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-30989357.html

You ought to get your facts right before you open your mouth.

"Your" house appears to have it's picture hosted on a for sale or rent site.

    Should start packing.

Did you mean to say "this is a random pic of aplace for rent I found on a website" rather than claiming it was your place, with it's for rent sign on the fence?

May I also say...I find your posting times rather strange for someone living in Thailand. Seems your posts concur with UK hours, unless you have a very bizzare sleeping pattern in Thailand.

Yes, i noticed that too. Also the sign on the gate in the picture is a for lease /for sale sign. Sadly I can't get in close enough to read if it applies to the house itself, but given the picture is lifted from a property website I think we can assume that Sibley is once again telling rather large porkies.

Sadly, he can't keep up with his lies. He needs to be a bit sharper than this.
