very good price as usually 14.1 screen notebooks are more exp than 15.4 ones.......ideally will require 256 mem.....graphics card is a bit crap though @ 64mb shared....but will be fine for basic surfing (but not streaming).....
acer stuff is pretty reliable....which is just as well as you hopefully wont have to really on their abysmal supportStevie Coppell's record breaking blue and white royal army - championship winners 2005-60 -
My Acer 2414 is easy to upgrade the RAM, but the cover hiding it is tricky to remove (Held in by about 20 little tabs). Required a little brute force!0

Why are 15.4" screens more expensive than 14.1? Will it be possible to put a proper graphics card in if I find it's needed? Thanks.0

I don't think they are. They smaller 12 inch screens are but they are designed for very small compact laptops. !4 inch was very much the standard size before 15 inch took over.
No you cant put in a seperate grahics card. The fact that there are shared grahics means it's more important to get a memeory upgarde as the graphics card will be eating up a fair portion of the 256mb of RAM..
My Acer laptop also had a removable cover to allow more RAM to be added, I think this is fairly standard these days.0 -
This said it was out of stock in my area, I would have thought it would be delivered from some central warehouse. Shame I am looking for a new laptop too.:A

you could try asking instore for a price match, some stores will some stores won't. The ones that tend to pricematch their website are those next to a Currys store. I wanted a sony camera that was on their website as a web special only £40 dearer instore, first store said no but second store put the difference on a gift card for me. Worth a shot perhaps.0

I purchased my acer on the comet site (£350) and a couple of days before the laptop was due for delivery I noticed they were selling them in-store for £299 so I went into the shop and aksed them to price match otherwise I would cancel my order and just buy one in-store. At first the saleswoman was having none of it saying qwe dont price match our own site but then another member of staff came over to me and phoned customer service to authorise the refund so happy at that0 -
