Excellent price. Worth buying extra ram, if it's the same as dell's should only cost £25 for another 512mb from lowestonthewebNext year we'll be millionaires!0

I purchased the Acer travelmate 2410 from comet for £299 and it's a decent laptop, cannot remember the spec off the top of my head but remember it has a 15.4" screen and a dual layer dvd burner0

battery life ain't great but it is light enough (just over 2KG)
as was said above just add another 256mb ram and it'd make a great budget laptop
I got an acer from Tesco about a year ago - added 256mb from Crucial and have never had any problems with it0 -

is adding extra memory to laptops as easy as PC's?0

Mine was easy as the memory is accessed via a cover on the base. I just took out 2 screws, slid the cover off and slotted in the extra ram.
Other laptops are more awkward as the keyboard has to be removed to gain access.
The laptop in question (the Acer from Comet) probably has access from the base. I tried to get the manual for it from the Acer website but it doesn't have the manual for that specific model. However similar Aspire models have memory access from the base so I'd guess this one would as well (can't guarantee that)0
