Costa Del Sol Hotels?

Hi I am going to Malaga Well flying into malaga for 2 day in December for business.. I get 80.00 towards a hotel so thats great. But ill be bringing my child who is under 2 and partner.

I am looking for a CLEAN reasonably priced hotel half board.. Any suggestions Ive seen some cracking hotels and good prices but then read a few bad reviews like
"has silverfish and lots of.." and it puts me off!

I am looking for something fairly kid friendly and easy to get to and from the airport.

thanks!!1!

is it 2 days (ie 1 night) or 2 nights (ie 3 days).

as far as child friendly goes, apart from the odd kids swimming pool (but will probably be cold / closed in Dec) or maybe small playground, not much really gonna be on offer for your child if you are looking for kids clubs / entertainment etc as under 2 years is generally too young.

looking on the other side, i would probably reccommend the resort of Fuengirola. it has a lovely, long, flat promonade which is ideal if you have a pram to walk along. decent selection of shops, restaurants & bars, and is also a working town. There is also a direct rail link from the airport to all the resorts down as far as Fuengirola, and costs approc £1.30 per person for the 30 min train journey.

There are a number of 'good standard' hotels down there at reasonable prices. the one i have knowlegde og is the Hi Hoteles Gardenia Park. i have stayed there twice now, and have friends who stay there regulary. It can be booked in the UK through Thomas Cooks, however booking with them does sometimes mean you have to have a minimum stay of X nights, so that might not be ideal. Alternatively, you may be able to do a reservation directly on the hotel website, or other hotel booking companies may be able to offer this hotel. The hotel is at the edge of the resort, up a slight hill, but not too bad. i enjoy the hotel as it offers a good value 'all inclusive' package which cost me last time £25/nt.

But other hotels are available through other companies, and i'm sure you will find something suitable, however just dont plan on it being 'sunbathing weather'. unfortunately, not the time of year for that there, unless you are very lucky.

    Regards

I also like Fuengirola - it's not too quiet, not too busy, decent beach, excellent transport links and it's very flat (unlike Torremolinos and Benalmadena)

To be honest, I wouldn't bother going half board as there are loads of good restaurants around. Everything from fish and chips to tapas.

As for hotels, I like Las Rampas. It's nothing to write home about from the outside (it's on top of a department store), it's lovely inside and is dead central - only a few minutes from the bus and railway station.

Take a look at The Florida, The Yaramar and The Angela hotels in Fuengirola.....all reasonable quality and close to transport links and restaurants.

Sol Melia are normally pretty decent hotels. They have 12 in the region and several priced from 40 to 60 Euro per night in Torremolinos. If your budget is 80 per night then the choice is wider still.

just be careful with the Angela hotel, as i believe this to be Adults Only, and no children are allowed.
