    I think that these shows can be easily fixed.

    Public phone and vote, results announced. However - how do we (the viewer) TRULY know that the result being portrayed is real, and not just what the programme makers want us to hear, to keep us watching.

    exactly, we cant be sure,
  • Aww, I like Wagner! Can't stand vile vile Matt! Yuk!
  • Simon Cowell must be soo upset with all those people paying him to vote for Wagner, someone remind me how much each call costs again? :-)

    The voting figures are given to OFCOM to validate, so I'm guessing they are correct.

    well, i remember reading in i think it was The Sun newspaper mid week last week that Paije had loads of bets of £100 or more on that he would be going this week so the odds of him leaving had to be lowered, so there must have been some inside knowledge there!
    :T:T :beer: :beer::beer::beer: to the lil one :) :beer::beer::beer:
  • I can honestly say I've never watched this rubbish. Are people still naive enough to realise the whole thing isn't "fixed" and it's just a dumbed down exercise to fleece a lot of money from people gullible enough to make a premium rate 'phone "vote"?

    OMG what is wrong with this show? Its supposed to be about talent - clearly the judges do not have much talent at "SPOTTING TALENT"

    The Irony, I would think it pretty impossible to spot any kind of talent on this show, I dont class karaoke as a talented gift ;)

    marleyboy (total legend)
    Marleyboy - You are, indeed, a legend.

    The X Factor is NOT about spotting talent.
    It's about entertaining (in it's very loosest sense) TV

    I'm looking forward to the International Paint Drying contest to replace it ;), I think I might vote Dulux.

    Exactly - its nothing to do with finding new singing talent.

    X Factor is about creating characters, both good and bad for the idiot public to love / hate as dictated to by the show. Love Wagner, hes different! Hate the other one, shes a !!!!!!. And the toilet paper red tops play their part, villifying or deifying on a random whim, buffeted about by the winds of idiot public opinion, occasionally reacting to it, more often than not dictating it to people who are incapable of making their own minds up. X Factor is a particulalrly unpleasant sitcom really. Nothing to do with talent.

    Its like Big Brother, its about manipulating the audience to provide maximum viewing figures. Same with Britains got Talent - nothing to do with talent, its about who's more marketable and sellable and who will result in the 'best' TV.

    In the case of X Factor, the fact that the people at the centre of the 'drama' seem to genuinely think Cowell et al have their best interests at heart is just deeply sad.
